For scenic privacy, kindly hospitality and a sumptuous breakfast, Soames Point B&B, just 5-10 minutes from the Langdale ferry landing along Marine Drive, near Gibsons, was unbeatable. For $139 nightly, we enjoyed an evening perched on the very edge of a granite rock face overlooking Howe Sound… either from our private deck, the Adirondack chairs on a grassy overlook, or the water’s edge dock. There is only one large, private oceanfront suite at Soames Point. While we were there for only one night, it is worth remembering that the entire coast is only 200 miles round trip... so it is conceivable that one could do the whole trip with multiple nights at two or three bed and breakfast inns. Each of the inns that we stayed at offered immaculate accommodations with kitchenettes, fireplaces, stunning views and quiet places to take it all in. We never felt one night was enough!! We watched a tug slowly pull a huge log raft through the channel from the panoramic window where we savored Judy’s breakfast of coffee, eggs benedict, lots of fresh fruit, granola and yogurt. Panoramic windows open the living room to the sea!

Soames Point is perched on the edge of a rock cliff! Our quiet moments of soaking in the grandeur of ocean, islands, sunset and clear starry night were blessed by the attention Tom lavished on the solid rock slope which led directly to the sea. It was a rock garden extraordinary.
